ABOUT

Welcome to the GECOM-CONCOORD 2025 website

The annual congress of the Organometallic Chemistry Study Group (GECOM) and the Coordination Chemistry Concertation (CONCOORD) will be held this year from May 19 to 23, 2025.

The GECOM-CONCOORD congress was born from the merger in 1993 of the “Study Group in Organometallic Chemistry (GECOM)” and the “Concertation in Coordination Chemistry (CONCOORD)” group. It is an annual congress, whose location and organizing committee change each year, and which brings together the scientific community interested in coordination chemistry. Coordination and organometallic chemistry is a fundamental discipline of modern chemistry and natural sciences bringing together four major areas of research: i) Chemistry and reactivity of coordination complexes, ii) Catalysis, iii) Coordination chemistry and materials and iv) Bio-inorganic chemistry. Coordination chemistry is therefore a vast discipline located at the overlapping point of several disciplines of supramolecular and bioinorganic chemistry, at the frontier of life and materials sciences. It plays a central role in responding to major current societal challenges ranging from the production and storage of energy and information, to the development of more environmentally friendly chemistry.

This congress takes place every year, here is a list of the last three editions to date: in May 2024 in Ax-les-Thermes organized by the colleagues from Toulouse, in May 2023 in Fournols by the colleagues from Clermont-Ferrand and Palaiseau, in May 2022 in Sévrier by the colleagues from Grenoble.

LOCATION

The 2025 congress, organized by a committee from Dijon, will take place on the Azureva site in Métabief in the Jura department from the Burgundy Franche-Comté region (more details on the Location page).
